The Vermont Commons School has launched a student-run business encouraging local homes and businesses to get certified as "Carbon Zero." Through a combination of reducing carbon emissions and using renewable resources, the participating homes and businesses end up with a net zero carbon output.
By committing to a CO2 reduction, these homes and businesses have realized their potentially negative ecological impact and have taken initiatives to reduce it. While a few have adopted environmental principles, the Carbon Zero certification process has a much greater environmental benefit. As the future generation, we want to be involved in a proactive solution to reduce global warming and the impact of carbon emissions on our world.
